ATI Petition for Adequate Drivers in Linux

I'm using (now it's old) Radeon VE (uses 7000 cheaps) and it's not even listed in this petition.. But ATI drivers sucks big time, and the linux support for acceleration also not that good :( I prefer to reacive a community drivers, that way I know that if the qoulity I reacive sucks, it's the screen-adapter and not the driver ...
Ido
So what is your point above? That this petition shouldn't be signed?
I might be naive but I think if a few tens of thousands of people (over 13,000 right
now) will show ATI that they are using Linux and are unhappy with their support
and will take their business elsewere it might make a dent.
I too would prefer to have open specs rather than close-sourced drivers - but I signed
this petition. I think even better closed-sourced drivers (for those who need them) are
an achievement - ATI will hear about Linux users, other hardware and software vendors
will get a reminder of the number of people who use Linux on their desktops, and it just
might convince ATI or others to open their specs (also remember - this petition counts
ATI users alone).
