Yes, but to their credit it is free software nevertheless.

Agreed. BTW, replace in the previous paragraph the word autotools
with the word 'Linuces' (or 'Unices' for that sake) and it will
still remain a truism (IMO).

The irony is that this book was published one month after I
completed preparing my brand new course about autotools (circa
Jan 2000 IIRC). Of  course I downloaded it immediately (as well
as ordering a paperback copy) so that I could do some reality
checking.
