HI after wresteling with this for a few hours I'm back from the cold. I suspect that the card isn't being handeled well allready in the cardbus support area.. The led on it doesn't light up and I've tried both the native rt2500 approach and the ndiswrapper approach. I can modprobe the modules themselfs (both rt2500 and ndiswrapper) but when I try to ifconfig ra0 ... the card I get a no device found in the rt2500 and when I iwlist in ndis I don't recieve a wlan0 entry either. Marc -I assume the cids are retrieved through dump_cis which returns a: prompt#dump_cis Socket 0: no CIS present MAtan -Here's my lspci although it doesn't show anything in it.. 0000:00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp. 82440MX Host Bridge (rev 01) 0000:00:04.0 VGA compatible controller: Trident Microsystems Cyber 9525 (rev 49) 0000:00:07.0 Bridge: Intel Corp. 82440MX ISA Bridge (rev 01) 0000:00:07.1 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82440MX EIDE Controller 0000:00:07.2 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82440MX USB Universal Host Controller 0000:00:07.3 Bridge: Intel Corp. 82440MX Power Management Controller 0000:00:09.0 IRDA controller: Toshiba America Info Systems FIR Port Type-DO 0000:00:0c.0 Multimedia audio controller: ESS Technology ES1978 Maestro 2E (rev 10) 0000:00:0e.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100] (rev 08)
I tried tail -f ing the /var/log/messages as I eject and return the card and I see nothing in /var/log/messages. Isn't hotplug supposed to take care of that even ecknowledging a pcmcia card has been inserted.. Either I'm missing something trivial Or I'm terribally tired... Probebly both.. The saga continues...
