Needless to say, have the UPS drive a dummy load when you do that. For
example:

| comm out |----- A PC
| UPS |
| 220V out |----- A lamp (bulb)
+----------------+
Obviously, the PC would get 220V from another source, possibly the
mains electricity. In addition, the bulb is not necessary if any event
will do, as opposed to the event that the UPS cuts the power to the
load.
