Ira, I don't think you need to be that hard on Shlomi's reasons. He may not have given a weighty reason for his question. But this does not detract from the legitimacy of the question. The only problem I have with his question is that he didn't demonstrate having read (and getting royally confused by) http://www.groklaw.com/. But you didn't flame him on this.
To Shlomi's question, I would like to add another question: Is there anything happening in Israel, which could adversely affect the non-patentability status of software? My reason for asking this other question is the trivial one of "if there is no danger, I want to eat a pizza. If there is danger, I'll choose shwarama instead." And my sorry excuse of asking this is that I found no mention of Israeli software patents during the last 75 hours of following http://www.whatsup.co.il/ or googling for ××××× ××××× ×××××. --- Omer On Mon, 2004-12-20 at 23:02, Ira Abramov wrote: > Quoting Shlomi Fish, from the post of Mon, 20 Dec: > > > > I'm asking, because I would like to remove this features in case they are > > no > > longer relevant. > > I would ask such a question, because I want to know if Europe is a > better, more sensible place to emigrate to than the US, a place that > respects citizen freedoms and where I could start a business to promote > my lifestyle and ideals. > > Another would ask this because there was a project he was hoping to > start developping and was wandering if it is OK to do it on Berlios > rather than find a server in Timbuktu and thus not be in danger of > violating the law > > Shlomi Fish asks so he knows if he can remove the icons from his page. > > Shlomi, don't you see? your site is the reason the Europeans haven't > passed the law change by now!
