Ira,
I don't think you need to be that hard on Shlomi's reasons.
He may not have given a weighty reason for his question. But this does
not detract from the legitimacy of the question. The only problem I
have with his question is that he didn't demonstrate having read (and
getting royally confused by) http://www.groklaw.com/. But you didn't
flame him on this.

To Shlomi's question, I would like to add another question:
Is there anything happening in Israel, which could adversely affect the
non-patentability status of software?

My reason for asking this other question is the trivial one of "if there
is no danger, I want to eat a pizza. If there is danger, I'll choose
shwarama instead." And my sorry excuse of asking this is that I found
no mention of Israeli software patents during the last 75 hours of
following http://www.whatsup.co.il/ or googling for ××××× ×××××
×××××.
                                              --- Omer
