HI

Installed CentOS 3 a short while ago, looks and behaves like RH EL3. I haven't
delved into the nitty gritty, but their website is quiet informative.

http://www.centos.org/

it does indeed claim to be a copy of RHEL3 minus the RH logo's, copyrights
etc. Installed really quickly and smoothly with no issues, and was really RH
with a different logo in the menu.

From what i remember, there is some community support for errata etc., and it
is based on RH errata. It's free to download and may be worth looking at as
an alternative to the commercial option depending on the support level
required. I do know of some companies in Europe looking at this distro quite
seriousely for production systems.

Hope this helps.

Ivor
