Well I think I figured it out, I am using Lampp but I still had
mysql-client installed. I uninstalled it but it didn't help, I
probably need to purge it from my system somehow, I guess.

Well actually I see something intersted, I got a system message:
/etc/cron.daily/logrotate:
                             |stat of /var/log/mserv/mserv.log failed: No such

                             |/etc/cron.daily/mysql-server:
                             |/etc/cron.daily/mysql-server: line 30:
mysqladmin: command not found
It seems that even now mysql is not gone. Now how do I convince my
debian system to accept the lampp transplant? Can't connect to local MySQL
server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) --> Admin Name or
Password incorrect
Would a symbolic link from /var/run/mysqld.sock to /opt/? help or is
there another way to tell debian lampp replaces apache and mysql?

Thanks
Aaron
