D-Link DWL-G520 (non-plus) is indeed based on the Atheros chipset, which is supported by the MadWiFi ( http://madwifi.sf.net/ ) project. MadWiFi right now is partially non-Free but the OpenBSD folks already have reverse-engineered the missing piece so there's a Free implementation of an Atheros driver on OpenBSD (and hopefully on Linux soon).Gabor Szabo wrote:
As the latest update to my quest to find a WiFi card I was offered a D-Link
DWL-G650 card.
The reseller (or was this the support of D-Link ?) send me a link to download the driver for this card:

The instructions look to me like instructions for the madwifi driver.
When buying the DWL-G520 card, you can know it's Atheros (and not TI) by noticing it offers a 108Mbps mode and sells for a bit more than DWL-G520+ (at least in Lamir it does).
