Bah, being a good boy hardly pays off nowadays. Of course, some administrators
appreciate security feedback, but most don't. Moreover, I've never heard of
one that openly encouraged users to report security issues. In my sad
experience, coming to an administrator with a security issue report makes you
the black sheep to be blamed for any cracking attempts from that moment,
white hat or no white hat. What is the cause of the long face attitude I get
when I mention it is beyond my understanding. Must that distinct smell of
extra work in securing the network I bring with me.
