Thats the sad thing: I think ATI.
However, (I must admit I have a really old card, Radeon 7200) it is dam slow. If I enable shadows and transparency in X using the composite extension, the computer gets dam slow. If you want better preformance, NVidia will get you better results on closed sources. About stability? The drivers bundled in xorg or XFree86 are very stable. But again, this is only my experience. -- diego, kde-il translation team, http://www.kde.org/il Please avoid sending me Word or PowerPoint attachments.
