Take a look at the "raw" driver(?) on cups.
I am using the PostScript driver, but I've used it before with HPIJS without a noticeable slow-down. Beside, HP tend to hide their Windows drivers inside a big bloated "software suite" which I don't want to dig into... > > > > > I've gone through the troubleshooting documents of the driver, and saw > > that printing slowness is a known issue. I don't see any swap activity while printing. AAMOF, I have more than 100MB free on my RAM. There are two processes that consume CPU during a print, which are ptal-mlcd and hpijs (each takes up about 34% of CPU). > > > > > Does any one here have any experience with this driver and its CPU > > consuming behavior (or a better way of printing and scanning?) > > -- > Tzafrir Cohen | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | VIM is > http://tzafrir.org.il | | a Mutt's > [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | best > ICQ# 16849755 | | friend > > ================================================================= > To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with > the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command > echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > ================================================================To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
