I was wondering if the same is possible without using X.
I have a small debian testing server, located at my house, to which is
naturally ssh.
The server has a monitor attached to it, which is seldom used.

I wish the monitor to poweroff when not used from locale console.

A quick googled search led me to this page [1], where it is
recommended to those not using X for their DPMS to set it using
setterm(1).

I've tested these configuration from my virtual console tty5,
unfortunately with no success:
<<<
# no response
setterm -powersave poweroff

# let it run for 5min, no respone
setterm -powersave on
setterm -powerdown 3

$ ls /proc/acpi/
alarm dsdt embedded_controller event fadt info power_resource sleep
>>>

Any help will be highly appreciated.
