i'm still looking for hardware groups, also interested in artists
working with technology: electronics, computers, etc.
any suggestions welcomed

i'm not sure this is directly relevant for you, but there is an
open-source convention in february, concentrating mostly on P-languages -
but not only. check out at www.osdc.org.il - it's a 3 days thing.
there are groups that form around linux (linux clubs), as well as a python
group and a perl group.
someone else will need to fill you in regarding hardware-related groups -
i'm not familiar with this area at all.
