I can tell you that the Israeli army doesn't use any special tools in these areas (of computer hardware, OS and applications). There is lots of home-built stuff of course but nothing relevant to this discussion. Let's try to recup on my statements in this thread - so far nobody here gave a good explenation on REALLY why the SourceFire deal was veto'ed by the American government, only speculations like the rest of the world.
