Yup, I looked at kde edu, but found it lacking gamishness as you say, although the quality and reliability was very high.
My 11 year old daughter loves playing The Sims. Now I know that's pretty advanced, but anything near that for Linux?

In math I imagined something that have levels, kids can do exercises to reach the the next level, they would have "lifes" just like in a shooting game so they can make a few mistakes before they fail the game but then get new "lifes" when they reach certain results.
