Hi, My question is : I am considering using a RAID with2 disks (and later on maybe more than 2) on a Linux Box. The two options I see are : Software-RAID and using a controller.
Nowadays a simple PCI ide RAID controller (**NOT** SATA) is quite cheap ; prices can be in the range of 20$-40$. My question is: is there any real benefit when using an IDE controller instead of software raid on linux ? Is there anybody with some experience with ide RAID controller in linux on which he can recommend? Regards, R.
