One way text-to-report, with no real GUI manipulation of input.

Missing basic features, such as task duration in hours. No resource
leveling, so it merrily assigns the 100 tasks to the same person at the
same time.

Windows only.

Supposedly cross-platform wxPython, but the developers have never tested
it on Linux and it really shows -- a lot of basic stuff is broken.
And again, no resource leveling.

There's also Planner (http://live.gnome.org/Planner), a GNOME app with
by far the smoothest GUI of all of the above. It's fairly rudimentary,
but would have sufficed for my needs -- except it doesn't do resource
leveling either.

On the non-FOSS side there's http://www.jxproject.com (ad supported or
$20 registration), which has a highly annoying Java interface and very
basic functions, but it does at least do resource leveling.

Hi Eran,
Good review on the previous tools.

I think that faces, which just popped out from a seemingly unrelated
search for "build tools" on freshmeat should fit your needs. Check it
at http://freshmeat.net/projects/faces/
