Must it be a book rather than information found on the web? I have many books,
and I rarely find them better than the appropriate 
website/mailing-list/forum/wiki/howto/whatever.

I seem to recall a HOWTO about kernel programming that specifically addressed
kernel programming etiquette. You might Google on those key words.

My personal approach to learning anything is first to join any/all mailing
lists I can find on the subject.

In your case, I would also visit kernel.org and have a good look at the
available resouces.

But if you must have a book, I have no specific recommendation. O'Reilly of
course is usually highly regarded but I don't know anything specific about
their recent kernel book.
