I had some experience with Pentaho. What can I tell you? It's exhaustively
documented in SPECs, but ones that I couldn't understand how to actually get
start using it. It is a huge memory hog, and hogged my then 512 MB memory. I
could not understand how much more did it give me besides implementing all
this logic myself in Perl, due to the fact it required me to write an
exhaustive amount of XML markup.
Maybe I'm missing something because I don't know my way around "Business
Intelligence" or understand what it is good for. But nevertheless, I was
unimpressed.
