I have no personal experience with it, but reliable sources have said well
of the SmartSVN client. You can download that from
http://www.syntevo.com/smartsvn/. They offer a free version and a "Pro"
version. The free version is said to work fine.
This client is Java based, but certainly lighter than Eclipse. For
Windows, the site provides an installer with the Java JRE already bundled
within (19 MB in all).
