Leonid, ES 1000 SUCKS, including it's DAC abilities, etc...
It's great for showing text and some graphics, but as a workstation, I would recommend to put any PCI/AGP/PCI-E graphics card inside the machine and use it instead. I had lots of problems when it comes to display with ES-1000. Up to 1024x768X16 all is peachy and nice, but above that - it's a huge failure, and frankly, this chip is not designed for more then that. It's use is mainly for servers these days (Hi IBM :)). It's just a pityfull 4/8/16 MB chip which is a some sort of "rebranded" old Rage based chip if I recall correctly.
