Many thanks for your reply Sara, I appreciate it especially with the Yom Tovim on us now, I looked at the link below also. I didn't get a straight answer from it.
I have also copied to the /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/firmware those files including what could the firmware I downloaded from Mustek for the two scanners. b2400cuv11.EXE up_libv13.EXE web.EXE XPDriver.EXE which in my mind appear to be Windows XP drivers and not really firmware. I also find that I have the following /usr/share/sane/firmware with the above files in besides /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/firmware/firmware and /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/firmware Seems to me too many folders here. When I came to delete these excessive /firmware/firmware I got the question in root, delete the Symbolic link? The command in root to copy I used to copy was: cp A2Dfw.usb -t /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/firmware changing the file name each time. Shannah Tova to you and all the members of the Linux club. -----Original Message----- From: sara fink <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected] Sent: Wed, Sep 16, 2009 10:06 pm Subject: Re: Mustek 1200CS not working looks like there is a bug. which distribution you use? see all these links: http://www.google.com/search?q=falied+to+open+device+gt68xx%3Alibusb&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 On 9/16/09, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: > > Mustek 1200CS Bearpaw Scanner installation and running difficulties. > > I received 2 sc anners as a present one is Mustek 2400 Cu Plus and the above The 2400 both in Windows XP and Mandriva 2009.1 warnings tell me not > connected or recognised even after trying different leads and USB sockets. > > According to Sane both scanners are supported. > > Regarding the 1200CS it shows up in the Mandriva Hardware Configure a > Scanner Dialogue option (Graphic) Box. > > I downloaded various files from Sane that are supposed to support them and > copied them all to /usr/share/sane/gt68xx > A2Dfw.usb > A2fw.usb > ps1fw.usb > PS2Dfw2.usb > > When opening XSane scanning programme I get the option to chose either the > webcam or the Mustek Scanner. > Mustek BearPaw 1200 TA flatbed scanner [gt68xx:libusb:003:002] > After selection I get and pressing OK I get the following notification: > > Failed to open device 'gt68xx:libusb:003:002': Invalid argument and below a > Close button. > Any ideas > Moshe > > > > > >
