I don't know if this is a KDE or X problem and because my computer is reacting VERY strangely, I can't really GOOGLE for this, so I hope someone can help.
I have a completely updated Mandriva 2010.0 box (KDE 4.3.5). For the past 2 or 3 days, my mouse has started to act wierdly (I tried 3 different mice and several re-boots, so I don't think this is a hardware problem). Here are the symptoms, and they seem to appear at random - sometimes only one symptom and sometimes several all together: 1 - The cursor moves on the screen, but clicking on icons doesn't work. 2 - Clicking "inside" an application works, but I can'r move or re-size a window. 3 - clicking on the toolbar to move to a different virtual desktop doesn't work. 4 - clicking on something in a window causes something to happen in a window UNDER the one I clicked on, as if the UPPER window was not there. 5 - scrollbar doesn't work but mouse wheel does OR the scrollbar works and the wheel doesn't. 6 - can't click on desktop icons (in fact, the icons don't get focus" when the mouse passes over them, but the K menu works. When any of these symptoms start, I Ctrl-Atl-F1 and kill one or more applications and that usually "solves" the problem for only a few minutes. -- Shlomo Solomon http://the-solomons.net Sent by KMail 1.12.4 (KDE 4.3.5) on LINUX Mandriva 2010.0 _______________________________________________ Linux-il mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.cs.huji.ac.il/mailman/listinfo/linux-il
