I had a computer that I considered for use as a server, and thus installed ubuntu server edition on it. I proceeded to install gnome desktop with - if I remember correctly - the command: sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
It gave me a perfectly satisfactory desktop, except for one thing - I can't switch between applications using the alt-tab shortcut, which always worked for me. I tried installing the compizconfig-settings-manager, but it does not have this option (to switch windows). System Settings - hardware - keyboard does not seem to do it either. I can add a custom shortcut, but it does not work Any advice? I'd best like to know which line to add to a configuration file, instead of messing with GUIs that are supposed to work but don't.
