Before recommending/buying Schildt's books, I would suggest that you go
through http://www.lysator.liu.se/schildt.html. Also, following comp.lang.c
for a few weeks or going through its archives (both can be done at
www.deja.com) will give you enough reasons why not to buy his books.
The best starting point for good books on C can be found in the C FAQ,
question 18.10. It is available at http://www.eskimo.com/~scs.
