The first answer would be "search the archives". This question has been
answered many times before. Of course, if you can do it, download
XFree86-4.0. Only the sources for the Linux platform are there at present,
so you will have to compile the package yourself. However, it is
completely worth it. For example, on my card (an S3 trio 3D), all 24 bit
issues with netscape icons, etc. have been solved. Also, XFree-4.0 as well
as XFree86-3.3.6 have updated support for the SiS6326, where the problems
that you speak of are solved. If you prefer to be less venturesome, go for
XFree86-3.3.6, because that is a part of the tested 3.3.x series.
