I am sorry, for posting this again. I am quite stuck up with ppp and
desparately need all you geeks help. This has come to point, that i will be
losing respect among people if i donot solve this out. So please help.
I am trying to setup a ppp server for win98/nt users to dialin
to connect to internet. I have successfully set up the dial in thru mgetty.
when users dialin thru the client the server is connected and the login and
password comes up. after logging and typing ppp at the prompt (i have setup
an
alias to pppd in bashrc) the ppp daemon starts up.
but when f7/continue is pressed after displaying verifying password. it
displays wrong password,try again.
What parameters do i have to give in the options file, my modem is
connected to ttyS1, what options should i give in options.ttyS1 file. I am
not
able to understand that why is this verifiaction done when the user is
already
authenticated when he comes to the shell prompt after logging in.
does ppp automatically routes all the http requests to the server
after the connection ppp is maintained or some setting has to setup on the
server.
further i am a little confused whether win98 requires PAP authentication by
default. they are option in OPTIONS file saying +ppd or -ppd , peer
authorisation required or not etc. what options do i need to setup from
win98
client.
futher can anybody help in pointing some resource for setting up ppp
with client as win98.(i have gone thru ppp howto)
