well the problem is that the inode (or smallest allocatable unit) may be at
4K and this means all the folders would take 4K, all files less than 4K
would
waste the rest space etc. Try connecting the hdd to another linux machine
and create the partition and use mke2fs with required parameters to force
creation of inodes at 102k bytes (1k) this may help you, but invesitng in
another Harddisk would be better on your machine.
