Hi,
I've set up a mail server whereby I'm able to send and receive mail within
the office (within the same server).
I'm trying to send and receive a mail from the outside world using a
dial-up.
I've setup ppp and chat to dialout.
I sent the mail from netscape client to a pop account and tried to fetch it.
and forced sendmail to send this message out. Send mail picked up the
message from the queue and sent the message out.
Now I ran fetchmail to fetch the mail.
My .fetchmailrc looks as follows.
set daemon+AD0-0
poll mailandnews.com with protocol pop3:
no dns, aka diffs-india.com
user myuser is murali here
password mypassword
I fetched mail using -v option which gave messages as follows.
fetchmail: POP3+ADw- +-OK 822 octets
reading message 1 of 1 (822 octets)
fetchmail: SMTP+ADw- 220 diffs-india.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.9.3/8.9.3+ADs- Wed, 15 Mar

This seems to indicate that fetchmail was able to pick up my message.
But for some reason, it is not able to put the message in the correct mail
box.
Meanwhile I was watching /var/log/messages and it gave message as follows.
Mar 15 12:11:12 diffs-india inetd+AFs-6105+AF0-: execv /usr/sbin/in.identd: No such
file
or directory
How do I find out what error is there is fetchmail.
