Just this afternoon I installed it and I did not have any
problems. The GUI is good (though I prefer the text mode anyday). I
have many friends who are intimidated by the console stuff. So I
thought I would try it. I can recommend Mandrake to a
newcomer. Installation is good.
The negative I noticed is that even though the initial boot up had fb
mode enabled, the installed one comes up in plain text mode. Maybe
passing some parameters to the kernel might change it. Will have to
try it.
