Well, I would suggest that you better stop continuing to this
monitor in this mode. By your description, it looks like you/X are driving
the monitor beyond its specs or very close to rated specs. And prolonged
use in this manner may end up burning your monitor.
Try using a lower resolution/refresh rate. Did you give the
refresh rate ranges (hsync/vsync) during configuring X correctly?? I may
be able to help if you provide me your /etc/X11/XF86Config.
