They have solved some pretty knotty problems on the list. However, it would be difficult, if not impossible for them to explain the basics of linux in each post. The purpose of this list is to help each other out. But people are unwilling to help those who don't take some effort to solve their own problems and expect answers on a silver platter. I suggest: * get yourself a good reference book. * read the online documentation. (usually in /usr/doc/HOWTO) A lot of your problems will be solved that way. If after that you are still stuck... _then_ post a query. Remember, all the gurus were once novices.
