You need an MTA. Search for "Sendmail" or "Exim" or just "MTA"
on http://www.freshmeat.net/.... IIRC RH 6.1 ships with Sendmail by
default... so rpm -Uvh /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/*sendmail*.rpm
Now that your MTA is installed, you can tweak the config
files, however you want to...

look around in /usr/share/doc/ and also check /usr/doc/HOWTO/
for the "Mail-HOWTO" and suchlike stuff...they're all good.
