hi
tried to install suse6.3 from april's chip CD , i had 2 hard-disks(4GB+1
GB) and installed it on 2nd hard-disk of 1GB, and chose to write LILO on
MBR. linux was booting fine , but when trying to boot in dos it gives this
error: unexpected EOF.
from dos fdisk we can see hard-disk1 having C: primary dos and d: logical ,
however we can only access d: when booting from dos system disk. accessing
c: gives bad media error. to restore MBR we tried fdisk/mbr from dos system
disk , but no luck, tried lilo -u /dev/hdb1 also, but again same problem ,
LILO propmt still shows at boot-time and can only load linux. is there any
other way to restore the MBR? if not restored , how can i save the data on
hard-disk 1 ??
