Hi

 When you are in X press ctrl+alt+F2 to get a virtual console...

Login there and type following..

$ startx -- :1

It starts X server on display 1, which you can access by pressing
alt+F8(if you are on virtual console.)
The default display is 0 which is available by alt+F7.

Note.. These settings are as per the defaults and will be different if you
change them. Secondly I use RHL6.1 and I know it works there. It should
work with any other distro. but you might encounter slight syntax
difference
if any at all...
