You're probably fetching email as root, not the wisest of
ideas.. because it means you're logged in as root...which is wrong.
Create yourself a normal account and use that.Logging in as
root and using it is a no-no.
Use sudo if you need Administrator powers.
man procmail
man sendmail
man qmail
man exim
man postfix
man fetchmail
Also cd to /usr/share/doc/HOWTO/en-html/mini and read the
various HOWTO's that are there.
You should then be comfortable with figuring out how your mail
system works.
