Hi.

Bear with me. I posted this problem earlier and got some responses. The
problem persists. Please see if you can help.

* I run RHL 6.1 from Nov99/PCQ.

* Intermittently I get an error at boot up saying that fsck.ext2 has failed
with SIGNAL 10 while processing /dev/hdc5. I get dropped to a shell for
maintenance.

* If I run e2fsck on hdc5 manually at this point, there are no errors. Most
of the time a reboot at this point goes through smoothly. Occasionally the
whole process gets repeated up to 5-6 times consecutively.

* Some list members had earlier suggested that I might have just shut off
the computer without shutting down Linux. This is not the case.

* Others have suggested that I use the -f switch with e2fsck. It does not
make any difference.

* I have checked the hard disk for badblocks. There aren't any.

* I reinstalled everything, this time with different partition sizes. The
problem persists.

Please help me. This is driving me nuts. By the way, the hard disk is a
Quantum Fireball (Does this matter?).
