i don't know if this message has been replied to so i shall give my two
cents' worth !;-)
it has been my experince that you cannot delete a linux partition using
fdisk. it cannot delete the non-dos partition because the partition usually
contains logical drives and it cannot delete those.
you might be better off trying the native linux applications, applications
such as ddruid or the like.
