Hello, I am still unable to solve the CD-ROM problem. I am sending the o/p of ls-l as you had asked for. ls -l /dev/cdrom gave the output lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Mar 22 22:14 /dev/cdrom ->hdc ls -l /dev/hdc gave the output brw-r--r-- 1 root root 22, 0 Apr 11 16:18 /dev/hdc Hope you can make some sense out of it and help me solve this intriguing problem.
