Depends on what logon screen you are waiting for. In most linuces you shoul
have LiLo installed that gives u a LiLo : prompt at system startup. If
you've configured it to automatically boot Windows after waiting for
5-10-15... n seconds then it'll boot you not into Lin but into win so
there..
Now for the second part you could mean you don't get the graphical
interface. Well for that you need to fire up an X server when u are at the $
or # prompt finally after the unending gibberish that tell u about all the
daemons etc that Linux runs in the background(and still manages to beat a
win machine at speed !). Again for the graphical interface you'll need to
have configured X properly.

Hey lets drop all this. What's the distro u'r using? Let us all know about
it and then maybe the help u recieve would be more specific/helpful.
Bye and best of luck going graphical.....
