Hi,
There may exist a hole in the kernel 2.3.51 -> Block device -> loopback
....
I have compiled this kernel with the reiserFS 2.3.99 beta patch.
Everything
worked file till I have compiled it with loopback support on in block
device.
This didn't make problem until i tried to mount a ext2 image with
loopback.

Case 1-
when I specified the mount option with wrong fs type option, the
kernel
    crashed with segmentation fault.

Case 2-
when I mounted the same with exact file system option and tried to
write,
in the mounted image, the system frizzed.

Moreover, the root privilege becomes exposed in the second case. (I am
going through that one and if I get sure about it, I will confirm)

I don't have the clue whether this is a bug of kernel 2.3.51 or a bug
introduced
by reiserFS 2.3.99 beta. I have just found it while playing with my
system!! Hence
it is too early to make a concrete comment by me.

I will provide the further info regarding this later ......
