You need to set up roles for this. Press 'S' then 'R' to get into roles
mode. Press 'A' to add a new role. Enter whatever you like in nickname
field and enter the address on your POP3 in 'Set From' field. Set
'Reply Use' and 'Forward Use' to 'Without Confirmation'. Exit setup
after saving changes.
Now again enter 'S' and then 'C' to configure PINE. Go to 'Advanced User
Preferences' and check 'confirm-role-even-for-default'. Exit and save
changes.
Always use your newly made role to compose, reply and forward messages
outside your local network.
Now being on the mailing-lists will notbe a pain any more (if you also
have fetchmail and sendmail properly configured).
Have a nice time ;-)

LIH is all for free speech. But it was created for a purpose - to help
people discuss issues about installing and running Linux. If your
messages are counterproductive to this purpose, your privileges to
submit messages can and will be revoked.
