Hello All,
I installed squid proxy on Redhat 6.1 and everything
was working fine. All of a sudden, the proxy has
stopped working. The clients are able to ping the
proxy server but they are not able to get any webpage.
I suspect the proxy is not working.
I did /etc/rc.d/init.d/squid start. It says that a
child process has been started. But, when i do a
ps -a the squid proxy process is not listed there.
Also when i immediately do a /etc/rc.d/init.d/squid
stop it says ERROR: No running copy of squid found.
I have not altered the squid.conf file much. Only
the http_port set to the default 3128.
