The thing you are talking about is the 127.0.0.0 network and not
128.*. Even in case of 127.0.0.0 n/w, it all depends on the way you
configure the routing tables. Normally 127.* class A n/w is configured to
be reachable only through local loopback, and hence you can't use it on
your local LAN. But if you remove the 127.* address, you can configure
part of it (say 127.0.0.0/24) for local loopback and leave remaining for
LAN.
