There are several other X-servers also available for windows environment. Some of them
are - X-win32 , X -in Pro, X cursion...
I am not to sure about Linux.. but for Digital Unix.. I have to setenv
DISPLAY=XXX.XXX.XX.XXX:0.0 where XXX.XXX.XX.XXX is the ip of the machine I am working
on... I am on dhcp.. so I have to find out each time using winipcfg. After that all
display should be made at your terminal. I have never tried x intself... but I have
tried other s/w like matlab running on Unix and they run fine.
