 You can try one thing. Convert MBR to 95. Boot it and read boot sector
of D:. Verify that it contains the information given by fdisk. Check for
it's size and file system type.

 Or try setting the file system type thr. linux fdisk....

I did not follow the original posting, sorry, but is d: a extended
partition?
