Hi,
Today I downloaded JRE 1.1.6V5 from www.blackdown.org (6MB tar file). On the site I
got a very
fast mirror :
http://linux.com.hk/mirror/blackdown/JDK-1.1.6/i386/glibc/v5/jre_1.1.6-v5-glibc-x86.tar.gz
I could download this huge file in 45minutes which was quite remarkable for me. Thanks
to the
fast mirror.
The link given my Ravi on Oracle installation is also very good. Thanks ravi. I have
followed
all the steps but now I am stuck at running the ./runIns.sh script from oracle CD(This
is a CD
which is burnt and oracle is there in a directory /databases on the CD).
When I try to run the above script I am getting the following :
oracle@rajesh:/mnt/cdrom/databases/install/linux > ./runIns.sh
bash: ./runIns.sh: Permission denied
*NOTE : the same thing happens from root login when I try to run the same script or
any other script from the CD.
I can not proceed further with the Installation . Any ideas what could be the problem
? My box is SuSE 6.3.
ls command in /mnt gives the following ( note : execute permision is set for
/mnt/cdrom).
rajesh@rajesh:/mnt > l
