Hi,
a complete newbie here....
I've got an 'Apache NetExpress 33.6' ext. modem. I been (unsuccessfully)
trying to connect to the net with it. I've got it hooked up on ttyS1 (com2)

First I tried to get it working with 'kppp'
kppp detected the modem correctly and dialed to my ISP, immediately after
the handshake the modem went off hook.... kppp treminal windows said
'expecting OK' . after a few seconds the modem started dialing again....
with the same results :-(

So, I went thru the 'PPP-HowTo'
I following instruction there (as correctly as I could - made the
appropriate entries in /etc/resolv.conf, .../pap-secrets, etc) I then
proceeded to dial out using 'ppp-on' and all I get is:
[root@infiniti ppp]# ppp-on
/usr/sbin/pppd: The remote system is required to authenticate itself but I
/usr/sbin/pppd: couldn't find any secret (password) which would let it use
an IP address.
[root@infiniti ppp]#

Can somebody (anybody) help me out with this as soon as possible. (I've
been trying in vain for the last 2 days!!!)
