I'd already done that before posting. I upgraded to the ppp-2.3.10-3 package from the redhat site, which was supposed to solve the above problem. In fact the changelog in the updat mentions that the problem is fixed. Here's a snippet from the updated ppp rpm changelog............ [root@shoopy src]# rpm -qp ppp-2.3.10-3.i386.rpm --changelog * Sun Nov 07 1999 Michael K. Johnson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> - Better fix for both problems * Sat Nov 06 1999 Michael K. Johnson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> - fix for double-dial problem - fix for requiring a controlling terminal problem The logs mention that the problem is fixed, but it still persists, albeit less frequently.
