Hello,

  First thing you need to do is to run Xconfigurator.
Hope it detects your display card (which it normally
does].  The problem is generally with the monitor
settings.  If your's is listed then you are lucky.
Else select generic monitor and enter the settings
manually.  Initially start out with the basic settings
and if it goes fine, then rerun the Xconfigurator and
select a higher setting.
